How to read these pages
Complaints
Reports owners filed with NHTSA. NHTSA does not confirm each one. A model year has a page here when it has 200 or more on file.
Service bulletins
Repair instructions and technical tips makers send to dealers. They are not recalls, and they do not mean your car is covered.
Recalls
Safety campaigns. The repair is free at a dealer. Only your VIN shows which ones are open on your car.
Check a VIN
Recall and complaint data comes from NHTSA, the US government's vehicle safety agency, and is cached for up to a day. Recall repairs at a dealer are free. A recall that is not listed may not apply to your car or may not be filed yet. Check nhtsa.gov/recalls too.
